It’s not necessarily bad that former combatants have opportunities; everyone makes mistakes and deserves a chance to redeem themselves. However, what is truly complex and unjust is when they receive privileges that surpass those of the victims. Our roads are in poor condition, there are limited university opportunities for our high school graduates, and there’s a lack of employment and support for productive projects. As victims, we don’t see the support from the state, while former combatants receive visible aid, better employment opportunities, and improved infrastructure. We also deserve the same support and opportunities!
