The Cimarrona Guard is the highest authority within the Black community in the community councils, responsible for protecting both life and territory. This ancestral practice had been abandoned for a long time due to armed conflicts. Nowadays, the community feels secure because the Guard enforces control and restrictions on outsiders who might wish to harm the community or its territory.
