“I’m afraid of losing you,” was what I told my mother on her birthday. It was raining. I felt worried, and my heart was beating faster than usual; I was scared. However, in her eyes, I found hope. I learned a lot about my mother after discovering her illness: “never give up, and whatever you do, do it with your heart,” were her most beautiful words. My mother overcame her illness after years of pain and suffering, and now, every March 8th, I give her a sunflower to show her that love will always exist. March 8, 2010.
