Smiling, Mrs. Beatriz recounts that she and her husband had dreamed of this house ever since they saw a similar one in Chimiadó. But as is the case with war, plans cannot be made, and her partner was killed. Mrs. Beatriz did not give up on that aspiration. Together with her children, she built the dream house with restitution money and later, with additional help from families in her hometown, constructed the first floor in brick, while the second floor remains made of wood.
